Yarragon Studio - FAQ

Where is Yarragon Studio?

address: 515 Yarragon South Rd, Yarragon South. 10 minutes out of Yarragon, a lovely little town in West Gippsland. easy to find: it's on the M1, in fact Yarragon has the first set of traffic lights you'll find after leaving Melbourne.

How do I get there?

An easy drive up in to hills the Strzelecki Ranges, we'll send you directions if you're interested in coming. If you rely on public transport: There's trains from Melbourne and Traralgon/Bairnsdale every hour, we can arrange a pick-up if you need!

What is Yarragon Studio?

Yarragon Studio is an open invitation to come to our house and enjoy refreshing and intimate chamber music concerts in a salon setting.

Is it a business?

No, it is not. It is 100% not-for-profit, which means that all ticket sales go straight to the artists. All costs made to enable these concerts are gladly paid for by us, so that both the artists and the audience have a pleasant experience. So don’t expect to pay what you usually pay at concert venues for management, coat racks, insurance, parking, ushers or booking costs.

Is it far away?

Not at all. It is roughly one Schubert Symphony out of Melbourne. As long as you head east on the M1, that is.

Is it just music?

It's so much more than just music. You’ll come for one hour of soul food, and are invited to stay for a chat whilst drinking Bill Downie’s wine and eating Rachel Needoba’s Butterfly Factory cheeses. An added pleasure usually reserved for quality (and hatted) restaurants in Victoria.

Is it expensive?

We keep prices low, to create easy access for all. $35 per ticket, $30 concession and under 18 free. However, if that is currently out of range for you we completely understand, feel free to  contact us, we might be able to find other ways to have you visit our series! for instance for our festivals we actually create Pay-it-forward tickets, for anyone who needs a pick-me-up but can’t afford it right now.

Is it out in the sticks?

We live up in the hills. It’s a stunning and safe drive, but for anyone who has second thoughts about navigating up a windy hill we can always organise transport.

Should I come?

I think you deserve to come. See you soon.
